Description
When the Honda NX500 motorcycle was released in 2024 I started to get a lot of emails asking if my CB500X luggage rack would fit the new model. Since there were no NX500 bikes available yet in Canada I decided to put my name on the waiting list. When it arrived at my local dealer I decided I had to take it home. There were some slight changes to the rear centre cowl above the taillight so it was obvious that my old rack would not fit the new bike. Once the snow fell I managed to find time to design a new rack for it. Like the original, this new NX500 luggage rack is designed to be simple and light and to blend beautifully with the styling of the motorcycle. It maintains the original passenger grab handles since they already provide tie down points and are strong enough for picking up the bike if it goes down. Rather than mounting a rack above the plastic panels, this rack replaces the rear centre cowl, giving it a very integrated, “stock” appearance.
If you just need some extra surface area to tie down your soft luggage, or to extend the passenger seating surface to support a duffle bag, this Honda NX500 luggage rack works flawlessly. However, if you would prefer a top box, there are universal mounting plates available from most suppliers that can be mounted to this rack as well. That might require some longer hardware and possibly some backing plates or oversized washers, so be prepared for a trip to the hardware store if a top box is what you are planning.
Note that this rack will require trimming of two mount tabs on the factory rear side cowls. However, the rack captures those plastics to prevent them from moving. I would suggest watching the installation video prior to ordering this rack.

Installed the luggage rack on my 2024 Honda NX500. Great workmanship no need to modify the luggage rack or my bike. Couldn’t be happier. The installation video made the luggage rack install easy. The only difference, after the tail cowling is removed, I hand tightening the M5 bolts. The provided rigidity when cutting the plastic taps. I also added blue torque seal to each bolt. Once again, great workmanship.

The rack is for a Honda NX500. It is milled flawlessly and finished to an even and perfect color. The fit was also spot on with bolt location and motorcycle lines lining up very well. The milled holes in the rack also allow options to strap items down, or in my case attach a storage box. The rack is thick and appears to be very strong without being heavy because of great engineering.

Our luggage rack arrived via UPS today, well packaged and complete. I had watched your YouTube and the installation was absolutely amazing. It took all of 20 minutes from the time the box was opened until the seat was back on.
The powder coat finishing was top notch and every hole met up exactly with the bike’s welded nuts. It looks like what it is: a high quality after market piece of kit that is better in every way than what the factory would do.
